Caring Hands International on Female Genital Mutilation

Caring Hands International has a day seminar on Female Genital Mutilation in our July monthly meeting. The Executive Director Tola Obilomo gave a short introduction to the topic and why it is very necessary for them to be part of the game changer. The facilitator was then introduced.

Lecture was delivered by a facilitator from Inter- American Committee (IAC) Nigeria on Eradication of Harmful Traditional Practices (HTPs) Affecting Women and Children, State of Osun Chapter.

The older citizens as a major stakeholder who serve as link between the old generation and the new one and also serve as custodian of our culture, have a great influence on the decision of their children and could easily influence and convince them to do their bidding.

The lecture served as an high opener to our older citizens who had seen it as a necessary cultural practice which should be carried on but after the lecture most of them saw why FGM has become a crime against humanity. Questions were asked and appropriate answers given. It was a refreshing and educative session.

Responsible gambling also requires understanding that results are determined by chance, not skill.
It encourages taking regular pauses and avoiding gambling when upset or intoxicated.
Known features like spending caps and self-exclusion help users stay in healthy territory.
At its core, responsible gambling is about enjoying the game as entertainment, not as a way to earn income.
