On 16th December 2024, Caring Hands International lovingly hosted its End-of-Year Hangout for Older Persons, creating a special day filled with joy, connection, and heartfelt celebration. The event was more than a gathering—it was a reminder that our older persons are valued, cherished, and never forgotten.
A total of 198 older persons came together, joined by traditional leaders, government functionaries, invited guests, and the devoted staff of Caring Hands International. From the moment they arrived, the atmosphere was alive with smiles, laughter, and a deep sense of belonging.
The day was enriched with engaging indoor games, touching storytelling sessions that brought back treasured memories, and joyful dancing that lifted spirits and filled the hall with energy. Every activity was designed to encourage interaction, strengthen bonds, and warm hearts. Medical check up was carried out by our versatile, competent and committed workers to assess the health status of the participants. Health talk on Arthritis and Osteoporosis was delivered by a Public Health Consultant Dr Gbenga Adepoju which further helped them to understand the condition and in return helped them to make informed decisions.
Great care was taken to ensure everyone’s comfort and happiness. Snacks and tea were shared during the tea break, followed by a wholesome lunch that brought everyone together around the table. These simple moments of sharing food and conversation created powerful feelings of love and togetherness.
The event ended with grateful hearts and radiant smiles. Many participants expressed how meaningful the day was to them and eagerly looked forward to the next gathering. It was truly a beautiful and unforgettable experience—one that reflected the compassion, respect, and commitment of Caring Hands International to honoring and celebrating older persons.
